fear in the furrows

Fear in the Furrows, BBC Radio4 program

Everyone who works from home will tell you that there are advantages and disadvantages of being at home, but let’s be positive, one of the advantages is being able to listen to what you want to listen to. Now me that is usually music, which is somehow related to what I am doing. But today I am delighted to have been listing to the glorious, BBC Radio 4 one of our household favorites.

The program I stumbled across was a really great one for you horror writers out there ‘Fear in The Furrows’  the program presented by Simon Hollis investigates the relationship between us, our fears of the unknown, folklore, the natural world around us and the influence these forces have had on the genre of Folk Horror in the world of film. It’s a fascinating insight into to some ancient traditions and how they might have influenced British Film Classics, The Wicker Man, Witchfinder General, and the one which sounds most spooky The Blood on Satan’s Claw. If horror is your thing, might be worth a half-hour listen.
